why opium?
The opium poppy is the perfect metaphor for the dichotomy of existence.
From one angle, the poppy is a flower. It is nature. It is green beauty, straight from mother earth. A powerful medicine used to relieve pain.
From another angle, it is a portal into a pseudo-bliss, one that amplifies the mind’s aspirations and intellect, but leaves one powerless to act upon them. The gates of hell.
Creativity is an aperture through which we contribute meaningfully to a world we don’t understand that barely notices us. Life is a dream occurring on the threads of a spectrum between joy & anguish.
Opium Studio exists to creatively service creatives, to share the wonder, the passion, the pain, the confusion.
